Brother Lonnie Myers will be officiating under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Dickerson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Crystal Hill Cemetery in Wickes, Arkansas. He is also survived by a nephew, Scott Johnson and wife Karla nephews, Brad Lyle and wife Linda, Jon Tidwell, and Brad Gentry nieces, Shauna Gilbraith and husband Scott, Amy Tadlock and Briony Jenkins and husband Chad brother-in-law, Mitchell Tidwell and wife Laurie sister-in-law, Pat Towry and husband Charles god daughter, Christa Nishmuta as well as numerous other family and friends. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Birchfield and husband Micah Maralyn Faulkenberry and husband Stacy four grandchildren, Carter and wife Kennedy, Kane, Kyleigh Faulkenberry, and Brentley Morris. Dickerson was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Paula Carlene Dickerson daughter, Amber Carleigh Davis Morris and sister Bettie Ann Johnson. He spent his lifetime studying his Bible and helped lay the foundation of his family's faith.ĭr. Merle was a member of Heritage Church in Van Buren, Arkansas, and a leader in the congregation. He played a pivotal role in the development and promotion of the fine arts center in Van Buren. He valued music and fine arts and instilled an appreciation and love for music in his students and children. One of his happiest experiences was hiking the Grand Canyon with close friends. D." He also loved the outdoors and spent much of his time running, biking, and hiking. He was beloved by his students, who affectionately called him, "Mr. Dickerson had a passion for education and believed the future held great promise for students and teachers. Prior to this, he served 14 years as a band director, three years as a counselor, 9 years as a principal, and 4 years as a superintendent in other districts throughout the state.ĭr.
